Beloit, WI- Led by Snappers starting pitcher, Jason Wheeler, the Beloit Snappers shut out the Dayton Dragons, 7-0 Monday afternoon. Wheeler improved to 3-0 on the season.
The Snappers plated their first run in the bottom of the second with base hits by Adam Bryant and Jhon Goncalves, putting the Snappers up 1-0 early.
The Snappers would add six more runs. Twins' top prospect, Miguel Sano, went two for three at the plate with two RBI, while Rory Rhodes added two hits and three RBI.
Wheeler delivered a solid day from the hill, pitching six innings, not allowing a single run. He retired fourteen consecutive batters in his outing today, and struck out seven.
Snappers' relievers, Matt Tomshaw, Clinton Dempster, and Bart Carter pitched a combined three innings, to cap off the shutout.
The Beloit Snappers have an off day Tuesday, and then head to Cedar Rapids to take on the Kernels for a three-game set. Pitching matchup in Cedar Rapids for game one is Snappers righty, Matt Summers vs. Kernels lefty, Eswarlin Jimenez.
