Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The IronPigs (12-8) play Game One of a four-game road* series against the Scranton/WB Yankees (9-9) at Coca-Cola Park... With a 12-1 loss yesterday against Buffalo (11-10), the Pigs lost the three-game home series to the Bisons, 2-1. The Pigs have dumped four of their last five contests after have managed just a 2-6 record after starting 10-2 -- the best start for a Phillies Triple-A affiliate since prior to the Scranton/WB Red Barons days (1989-2006)... The Yankees -- New York's top affiliate -- won last night 8-6 in Pawtucket to snap the Red Sox nine-game winning streak and split the two-game series. The streaking Yankees have won five of their last six affairs since starting 4-8.

RHP Dave Bush (1-2, 3.07) will start for LHV against RHP Ramon Ortiz (0-1, 5.25).

Tonight is Ryne Sandberg Bronze Statue Giveaway Night. First-Pitch is at 7:05 p.m. Gates Open at 5 p.m. for Happy Hour.

*ROAD IS WHERE THE HEART IS?:

Even though this four-game series will be played at Coca-Cola Park, the Pigs will be the "visiting" team for all four games due to PNC Field renovations. LHV will bat first, take BP second (5:15-6:00) and all stats will be kept as though SWB was the home team... This won't be the first time SWB "hosted" LHV at CCP. The Pigs went 1-1 vs. SWB here from 7/9/09-7/10/09 (field conditions).
