Youds Re-Signs with Rockford for 2012-13 Season

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Wednesday that the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs have signed defenseman Ben Youds to a one-year AHL contract for the 2012-13 season.Youds, 24, competed in his first professional campaign in 2011-12, notching 17 points (4g-13a) in 57 games. The defenseman also appeared in one contest with the Toledo Walleye, tallying the game-winning goal in overtime on Dec. 27 in his only game with the IceHogs' ECHL affiliate. The Maple Grove, Minnesota native was named Rockford's Most Improved Player in 2011-12.
Before joining the IceHogs, Youds skated with Minnesota State University-Mankato for four seasons, garnering 67 points (11g-56a) in 145 contests with the Mavericks.
