BOWIE BAYSOX PLAYER MOVE
BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce a roster move today. RHP Ross Wolf was released by the Baltimore Orioles and OF Ronnie Welty was transferred to Bowie from Advanced-A Frederick. With the moves, the Baysox have 25 active players on the 25-man roster and five players on the Disabled List.
Wolf pitched in seven games for the Baysox season, going 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA and one save in eight innings of work. He allowed 12 hits, while striking out seven batters and walking two.
In 13 games with Frederick this season, Welty is hitting .415 and his 13 extra-base hits lead the Carolina League. He is tied for lead league in hits, doubles, triples, and total bases. His batting average and .830 slugging percentage are second-best in the league. He was named the Carolina League Player of the Week for the week of April 16-22.
