Skole Adds to RBI Total in Suns Loss

Salisbury, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (6-7) lost their fourth consecutive game, 6-2, to the Delmarva Shorebirds (8-5) at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, MD on Tuesday night.
For the second straight night, Hagerstown rallied in the ninth inning after being shut-out through eight, scoring twice and bringing the tying run to the plate before Justin Miller struck out with the bases loaded to end the game. Matt Skole knocked in the only RBI of the game, his league leading 16th of the season. Brett Newsome and Cole Leonida each collected a pair of hits.
Suns starting pitcher Alex Meyer (1-2) suffered the loss in five innings, giving up three runs while striking out a career high seven batters. From the bullpen, reliever Aaron Barrett allowed one run in two innings while Greg Holt gave up two runs in his one inning of work.
Shorebirds starter Dylan Bundy threw three hitless innings, allowing just one base runner on a walk, while striking out three in a no-decision. Left-handed reliever Trent Howard (1-0) pitched five scoreless innings out of the bullpen, scattering four hits while striking out two batters to earn his first win of the season.
Delmarva first baseman Nicky Delmonico snapped an 0-for-24 stretch with a two-run homer in the eighth inning and finished the night 1-for-4 with three RBIs. Left fielder John Ruettiger went 1-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
The Suns complete their seven game road-trip with the series finale against the Shorebirds on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. when LHP Kylin Turnbull (0-0) faces Delmarva's HP LHP Tim Berry (0-2).
