Indians Set Victory Field Attendance Record

April 13, 2012 - International League (IL1)
Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Indians set a new Victory Field home opener attendance record Friday night as 14,073 fans attended the contest against the Toledo Mud Hens.

The crowd was the largest for an April opening in any season since the Indians moved to Victory Field partway through the 1996 season. The first game at Victory Field is not counted toward opening day attendance records because the stadium opened in the middle of the season.

Before Friday night, the largest season-opening crowd in Victory Field history was 12,037. That crowd was in attendance for the Tribe's home opener in 2008, a 9-3 win over the Norfolk Tides.
