Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPigs (6-2) play the finale of a three-game series against the Syracuse Chiefs (2-5) at Coca-Cola Park... With a 5-4 win over the Chiefs last night, the Pigs won yet another one-run game and have a chance tonight for their first three-game winning streak of the season. Going back to last season, Lehigh Valley has won 12 of its last 16 matchups against Syracuse... The Chiefs -- Washington's top affiliate -- has lost the first two games of this series despite out-hitting the Pigs, 21-13 (with a 4-2 edge in home runs)... Following this game, the Pigs will welcome in the Rochester Red Wings (5-3) for a two-game, weekend series.
LHP Tom Cochran (1-0, 3.60) will start for LHV against LHP John Lannan (0-1, 22.50).
Tonight features postgame Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Penn State Lehigh Valley. First-Pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
WITH A WIN TONIGHT, THE PIGS...:
* Have their first 3-G sweep of the season and their first since 5/17/11-5/20/11 @ SWB; and their first at home of more than 2 G since sweeping a 4-G series 7/16/09-7/19/09 vs. ROC... The Pigs have never had a 3-G sweep at Coca-Cola Park.
