Families from across the Berks County region are invited to come out to FirstEnergy Stadium on Saturday, April 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for Touch-a-Truck 2012 presented by the Junior League of Reading, Pa. and the Reading Phillies.
During the event, kids will have the opportunity to explore, climb on, and touch a variety of vehicles including trucks, motorcycles, race cars, safety vehicles, and other unique automobiles. Children of all ages are welcome to event, which will also feature additional family-friendly entertainment, children's activities, and more.
"Touch-a-Truck is one of our favorite events to host each year," said R-Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker. "What's better than having your kids climb up on dump trucks, fire trucks, military vehicles, and the like, beep the horn, pretend their driving, and smile - a lot? I know my kids are pumped! America's Classic Ballpark is the perfect venue, and the R-Phils couldn't be more excited to partner with the Junior League or Reading for this fun-filled family event. "
In addition to the great lineup of diverse vehicles, there will be free Phunland rides, a kid's pedometer challenge with physical activities and prizes (including a new bicycle), "Eat the Rainbow" healthy food choices, R-Phils clubhouse tours beginning at 1:00 p.m., live music performed by Mike Noecker, Reading Phillies mascots, ballpark food favorites, and much more. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
Proceeds raised from Touch-a-Truck 2012 will support The Junior League of Reading, PA, Inc. and its community projects and services to expand the resources available to all children to enhance opportunities available for their growth, development, and overall welfare.
Any company or organizations that would still be interested in providing a truck or other vehicle for Touch-a-Truck, please contact Jackie Azbill at jazbill007@gmail.com. You must register your vehicle in advance.
