Tonight, the SeaWolves begin their home portion of the schedule as they play the first of 71 games at Jerry Uht Park. The SeaWolves host the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) in the first of a four-game series to start the homestand...On Tuesday night, the SeaWolves jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning and went on to take down the Mets 6-1. The SeaWolves finished their first road trip of the season 2-3...The Baysox, after an opening day win, dropped five straight games before ending the losing streak with an 11-6 win over Richmond yesterday...Lefty Jay Voss takes the mound for the SeaWolves tonight making his second start and first against the Baysox. Voss took a loss on Opening Day in Altoona surrendering five runs in 4.2 innings of work. Voss made two starts against the Baysox last season posting a 0-1 record and 5.73 ERA...The Baysox counter with lefty Jacob Petit making his second start. Petit took a no-decision in his first start agianst Harrisburg on April 7. In the game, Petit allowed two runs on five hits with no walks and three strikeouts in six innings of work. Petit was the Orioles 42nd round pick in the 2010 draft...The SeaWolves are 4-1 in their last five home openers with the lone loss coming in 2010...The SeaWolves host Bowie to begin the homestand and finish with Trenton (NY Yankees) for three.
- Erie won the 2011 season series over Bowie 11-10. The SeaWolves and Baysox meet 21 times in 2012.- The SeaWolves roster features 18 players who have spent time at the Double-A level or higher. - The SeaWolves have scored first in four of the five games played this season.- In both of Erie's wins, the club has collected more than 10 hits. - The SeaWolves are tied for second in the league with a .994 team fielding percentage, committing one error through five games. - Former SeaWolf Adam Wilk will make a start for the Tigers on Friday while Drew Smyly makes his MLB debut on tonight against Tampa. Smyly will be the 154th player in SeaWolves history to wear an Erie uniform and play in the bigs.- Erie is ninth in the league with a 4.50 team ERA while the Baysox are 11th with a 5.00 team ERA.- The SeaWolves are hitting .233 as a team through five games.
