Memphis, TN - The Memphis Redbirds (56-54) beat the Iowa Cubs (47-64) 2-1 at Auto Zone Park tonight, completing a sweep of the four-game series. This is the fourth time the Cubs have been swept this season. The Cubs finished their 12-game road trip with a 3-9 record.

The Cubs got their only run when Brett Jackson led off the game with a home run. It was his fourth home run with Iowa and his second leading off a game. Cubs' starter Dave Bush had his longest outing with Iowa this season. He pitched 6.1 innings and allowed one run on five hits. Tyler Greene led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a single and scored later in the frame on a sacrifice fly by Freddie Bynum. Chris Carpenter finished the seventh inning for Bush and struck out both men that he faced.

The Redbirds took the lead in the bottom of the eighth. Robert Coello walked Adron Chambers to begin the inning. Shane Robinson followed with a bunt hit and Chambers went to third when Bryan LaHair dropped the throw to first for an error. Greene followed with a sacrifice fly to right field that brought in the game-winning run.

In the top of the ninth inning, Jonathan Mota reached on an error to start the frame, but Victor Marte clamped down to earn his 21st save. Ron Mahay (1-2) had pitched a scoreless top of the eighth for the Redbirds and picked up the win. Coello (4-6) was charged with the loss.

The Cubs return home to Principal Park to start a four-game series against the Fresno Grizzlies tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. LH Chris Rusin (1-1, 3.44) will start for the Cubs against RH Shane Loux (5-10, 4.64) for the Grizzlies.
