Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

Oklahoma City, OK - Luis Mendoza continued his mound mastery, working six strong innings in Omaha's 13-2 victory over Oklahoma City Tuesday night in the last of a four-game series at Bricktown Ballpark. The Storm Chasers won their fifth in a row to improve to a season-best 12 games over .500 at 61-49 and maintain their five-game lead over Memphis in the American Conference North Division.

David Lough's lead off long ball in the fourth broke up a scoreless game and triggered a five-run rally. Irving Falu added a sacrifice fly before Lance Zawadzki tripled in two runs and scored on a Joaquin Arias base hit.

Kila Ka'aihue's three-run blast in the fifth lengthened the visitors lead to 8-1 and a four-spot in the sixth, highlighted by Salvador Perez's two-run single, put the game out of reach at 12-1.

Mendoza notched his eighth win of the year after allowing a lone run on four hits while walking one and striking out six. Robinson Tejeda yielded a run on three hits over the final three frames to earn his initial save of the campaign.

The Storm Chasers will send right-hander Sean O'Sullivan to the mound Wednesday night against Sacramento left-hander Carlos Hernandez in the opener of a four-game series at Werner Park. Coverage of the game begins at 6:45 p.m. and can be heard locally on KOIL AM 1180 and online at omahastormchasers.com.
