San Antonio - San Antonio manager Doug Dascenzo announced today that Mission Casey Kelly will be the starting pitcher for the South in Wednesday's 75th Texas League All-Star Game at Wolff Stadium.

Kelly has posted a 6-4 record with a 4.48 ERA. In 16 starts, the right-hander has pitched 86.1 innings, allowed 99 hits, 53 runs (43 earned) while walking 27 and striking out 65.

Kelly, the top-rated prospect in the Padres minor league system, originally signed a letter of intent to play quarterback at the University of Tennessee before turning his attention to baseball fulltime.
