Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI-Mark Van Guilder scored the game-winning goal in the third period and Jeremy Smith continued his stellar play with 30 saves as the Admirals took a 3-2 win over Texas Wednesday night to even their best-of-seven series at 2-2. Game five will take place on Friday night at 7:30 pm at the Cedar Park Center.

For the third straight game it was the Admirals who posted the game's first goal when Gabriel Bourque tallied his fourth goal of the playoffs. With the Ads on the power-play Roman Josi passed the puck from the high slot over to Chris Mueller on the right side of Texas goalie Richard Bachman. Mueller held the puck just long enough to freeze Bachman before passing to Bourque in front of the goal and he chipped it into the Stars net.

The Stars tied the game at 6:25 of the second period on a rebound goal by Scott Glennie. Glennie fired a shot from the left dot that Admirals goalie Jeremy Smith stopped, but the rebound came right back to Glennie and he fired it in.

Milwaukee got back on top when Taylor Beck picked up his first pro goal at 12:37 of the second. With the Ads on a power-play, Grant Lewis took a shot from the right point that deflected off the skates of a Texas defenseman and over to an open Beck on the left post and he jammed it home.

Mark Van Guilder made it 3-1 Milwaukee at 3:13 of the third period as he scored his first of the post-season. Ads forward Cory Conacher and Texas defenseman Dan Spang were battling for the puck in front of the net and Van Guilder came crashing in and, after being tripped, managed so slip the puck under Bachman's outstretched leg.

The Stars pulled to within one with a five-on-three goal by Greg Rallo at 8:45 of the third. Rallo ripped a one-timer from the left point past Smith, but that was as close as they would get as the Ads escaped with the 3-2 in.

The two teams will play game five on Friday night in Texas at 7:30 and the Admirals will host a free viewing party at Major Goolsbys in downtown Milwaukee.

Game 6 will take place on Monday, April 25 at 7:00 pm back at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
