Wizards Crush the Red Claws

Bismarck, ND - The Dakota Wizards (11-20) scored a season high and league high 142 points on Saturday night at the Bismarck Civic Center and defeated the Maine Red Claws (12-19) 142-100.

Dakota came out on fire in the first quarter and never trailed in the first half. The game was tied at two the only tie of the game, and Maurice Baker hit a lay-up to give the Wizards a 4-2 lead and they would hold that lead the rest of the game. Maurice Baker scored all 10 of his points in the first and Dakota shot 57.1% on 16 of 28 shooting in the quarter.

Chris Johnson and Lawrence Westbrook would lead the way for the Wizards in the second scoring 21 of Dakota's 41second quarter points giving the Wizards a 77-52 lead.

The Wizards would get 14 third quarter points from Mike Anderson and would hold a 33 point lead at the end of the third quarter and cruised in the fourth to pick up the 142-100 victory and fourth win in a row.

Dakota shot 54 of 93 from the field for 58.1% and Maine ended up shooting 38 of 89 for 42.7%

Seven players posted double figures for the Wizards led by a season high 29 points from Mike Anderson. Chris Johnson recorded his 15th double-double of the season and second in as many nights with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Javaris Crittenton and Lawrence Westbrook added 17 points apiece and Anthony Goods would chip in 15.

Avery Bradley led the way once again for the Red Claws scoring 22 points and fellow backcourt mate Jamar Smith and 17 points.

Dakota returns to action Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. as they play host to the Idaho Stampede at the Bismarck Civic Center.
