Daniels' Big Night Propels Legends To Victory

Frisco, TX - The Texas Legends used a great second half performance to defeat the top team in the NBA D-League, the Tulsa 66ers, 110-94 on Saturday night at HP Court inside Dr Pepper Arena in front of a national television audience.
The game, which was broadcast nationally on VERSUS, was dominated by 12-year NBA veteran Antonio Daniels, who scored a season-high 27 points on 11-of-13 shooting to go along with six rebounds and six assists.
The Legends and 66ers fought back and forth throughout the first half, as the game was tied 12 times and there were 20 lead changes in the opening half. Neither team was able to take more than a six-point lead in the half.
After trailing by six, Texas finished the half on a 7-2 run to cut the deficit to one, 51-50.
Two minutes into the third quarter the Legends went on an 8-0 sprint, including back-to-back 3-pointers from Sean Williams and Antonio Daniels, to take a seven-point lead. Texas would extend the lead to nine, before heading into the final quarter.
Despite the Legends going on a 9-0 run in the middle of the fourth to take their largest lead of the game at that point at 14, the 66ers would not go down quietly. They would respond with a 10-2 run of their own to cut the Texas lead down to six.
However, the Legends outscored the 66ers 14-4 down the stretch to take down the 66ers for the second time in six tries this season.
Joe Alexander poured in 16 points and grabbed 10 boards, while Sean Williams added 18.
Byron Mullens scored a team-high 20 points in the loss for Tulsa.
The Legends have now won five of their last six games and improved to 16-14 with the victory, while the 66ers fell to 23-8.
Tomorrow afternoon the Legends will take on the Erie BayHawks for the first time in franchise history with a 2:00 PM start time.
