San Antonio Rampage News Release
COOL SCHOOL EDUCATION DAY-Jan. 26: The Rampage will host more than 5,000 kids on Wed., Jan. 26 with the puck drop scheduled for 10:30 a.m. for their first ever matinee game catered toward school children.
PINK IN THE RINK-Jan. 28: The Rampage will dye the ice pink for the first time in franchise history to signify breast health awareness. The team will also wear special pink-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game in which a portion of the proceeds benefiting Komen San Antonio.
LEADING LINEMATES: The line of Ryan Hollweg, Andrew Ebbett and Jamie Bates has accounted for 64.3% of the Rampage's offense in their last four games after providing a combined four goals and five assists for nine points.
FOR THE RECORD: Center Bracken Kearns skated in his 300th AHL game on Jan. 15 vs. the Oklahoma City Barons while right wing Jamie Bates recorded his 100th profes- sional point after collecting two assists vs. Chicago on Jan. 16.
POWERFUL PLAY: The Rampage claim the best road power-play percentage and the second-best overall power-play percentage in the league at 28.2% and 22.6%, respec- tively. They have scored 44 power-play goals on 195 overall chances while scoring 22 goals on 78 man-advantage opportunities on the road.
HELLO MY NAME IS: Several new faces have joined the San Antonio club this week including Jamie Bates, Ned Lukacevic and Ryan Huddy from ECHL's Las Vegas and J. D. Watt from the Abbotsford Heat (AHL). Watt is a former member of the Las Vegas Wran- glers and played alongside current teammates Jeff May, Tyler Mosienko and Matt Beau- doin during the 2008-09 season.
ICE CHIPS: Jamie Bates- Right wing
Right wing Jamie Bates has made an immediate impact to the Rampage attack in his first four games as he has recorded one goal and three assists.
The Toronto, Ontario native spent the earlier portion of this season with the Rampage's ECHL affiliate in Las Vegas where he led the Wranglers in scoring with 31 points on 12 goals and 19 assists in 23 games. In addition, Bates entered the San Antonio line-up riding a ten-game point streak with seven goals and seven assists with the Wranglers.
Bates spent four seasons at Quinnipiac University where he skated in 143 games and amassed 129 points (52g, 77a) before making his professional debut with the Norfolk Admirals during the 2007-08 campaign.
THIS WEEK'S GAMES
Friday, Jan. 21 @ Milwaukee Admirals
Bradley Center, 7:00 p.m.
The Rampage will face the first place Milwaukee Admirals for the fourth time this season after losing their last meeting 3-1 to bring their overall series record to 1-2-0-0.
Saturday, Jan. 22 @ Rockford IceHogs
Rockford MetroCentre, 7:05 p.m.
The Rampage will travel to the MetroCentre for the second time in five days to skate against the IceHogs. They hold an overall record of 2-1-0-0 against Rockford as they are scheduled to meet six times this season.
Monday, Jan. 24 @ Texas Stars
Cedar Park Center, 7:30 p.m.
The Rampage conclude a five-game road trip with a contest at the Cedar Park Center to face their in-state rival, the Texas Stars. The Rampage defeated Texas by a score of 5-1 in their last contest racking up two points in the Lone Star Faceoff race.
