Lightning Recall Jones and Vernace from Admirals

TAMPA BAY, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have recalled forward Blair Jones and defenseman Mike Vernace (vuhr-NAYS) from the Admirals, Lightning Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced today.
Jones, 6-foot-2, 216 pounds, has played in four games with the Lightning this season with a goal and an assist with a plus-1 rating. He has also recorded seven goals and 16 points with a plus-seven rating in 12 games with Norfolk this season. He is tied for second in goals, assists, points and plus/minus with the Admirals.
A native of Central Butte, Saskatchewan, Jones has played in 42 career NHL games, all with the Lightning. He has registered two goals and five points with 12 penalty minutes during his career. Last season Jones played in 14 games with the Lightning, recording 10 penalty minutes and averaging a career-best 12:50 in average ice time.
In 275 career AHL games between Norfolk and the Springfield Falcons, Jones has recorded 55 goals and 163 points.
Jones was drafted by Tampa Bay in the fourth round, 102nd overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Vernace, 6-foot, 216 pounds, played in seven games with the Lightning to begin this season, averaging 9:06 in ice time per game. He made his debut with Tampa Bay on October 9 against Atlanta and played a season-high 16:33 in ice time October 16 at Florida. Vernace has played in 19 career NHL games with the Lightning and Colorado Avalanche.
Vernace has appeared in nine games with Norfolk this season recording two goals and three points. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Vernace has skated in 245 career AHL games with the Hamilton Bulldogs, Chicago Wolves, Lake Erie Monsters and Albany River Rats. He has amassed 11 career goals and 74 career points.
Vernace was signed by the Lightning as a free agent on July 29, 2010. He was originally drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the seventh round, 201st overall, of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
The Admirals have returned to Scope to host the Adirondack Phantoms tonight at 7:15 p.m. on US Marine Corps Night. Also tonight former Pro Bowl Washington Redskins linebacker Chris Hanburger will sign autographs and pose for pictures with fans.
