Aeros Sign Goalie Ouzas to PTO

HOUSTON --- The American Hockey LeagueÂ’s (AHL) Houston Aeros, affiliate of the National Hockey LeagueÂ’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild, today announced that the team has signed goalie Michael Ouzas (OOZ-us) to a Professional Tryout (PTO) contract.
A 25-year-old Hamilton, Ontario, native, Ouzas has appeared in six games with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL this season. He posted a 5-1-0 record with Las Vegas along with a 2.14 goals against average (GAA) and .924 save percentage. Ouzas currently ranks fourth among ECHL goalies in GAA and is tied for second in wins.
The 5-foot-10, 190-pound netminder is in his third pro season. Ouzas played for Las Vegas during the 2009-10 season and split his rookie season of 2008-09 between Fresno and Reading of the ECHL.
The Aeros (8-6-1-2) visit Grand Rapids this Friday (6:05 p.m. CST) and Chicago Saturday (7:35 p.m. CST). The team returns home Sunday at 4:05 p.m. vs. the Texas Stars.
