Silvertips, Providence Pink the Rink on October 29th vs Tri-City

The Everett Silvertips and the Providence Comprehensive Breast Center are joining forces to raise money and awareness for the treatment of Breast Cancer and other forms of cancer throughout the month of October, culminating in a "Pink the Rink" night on Friday, October 29th against the Tri-City Americans. Everyone attending the game is encouraged to show support by wearing pink articles of clothing to the rink on Saturday, joining the players, Silvertips staff and team personnel.

For the first time in four seasons, the Silvertips will be wearing special commemorative jerseys which will be auctioned off in a sealed bid both online and at the game on the 29th. Though winning bidders do not have to be present at the game to claim their jersey, they will have the opportunity to have a picture taken with the player whose jersey they won immediately after the game. Pink laces and other pieces of equipment will also be auctioned off. More information on the bidding process will be available on EverettSilvertips.com at a later date.

Ticket packages, which include a ticket to the game, a limited edition "I Pinked the Rink T-Shirt", and a $6 donation to the Providence General Foundation, are available for $20 through Wednesday, October 20th. Season ticket holders who have already paid for their tickets but would like a t-shirt may purchase the shirt for $10, or may also purchase the $20 package, with the Silvertips donating the tickets to families and individuals whose lives have been affected by cancer.

Fans also have the option to purchase commemorative pink hockey sticks autographed by the player of their choice for $100. Additional autographs will cost $15, while team-signed sticks will be available for $150. Season ticket holders will have the first option to purchase these special hockey sticks, with the remaining sticks available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

When the Silvertips skate out to the blueline during pre-game player introductions, they will be accompanied by cancer survivors in a special pre-game ceremony. The Silvertips are also cognizant of and have been affected deeply by those who have lost their battles with cancer, and fans who wish to donate $10 to the Providence General Foundation will be able to have their friends and loved ones' names read aloud and displayed on the scoreboard during the first intermission.

The Silvertips will be joining cancer patients at Providence Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, October 26th, where Silvertips players and mascot, Lincoln, will share stories of teamwork and perseverance. Cheri Russum, a spokesperson for Providence Regional Medical Center was eager to speak on behalf of an effort that unites the Silvertips with the hospital.

"Providence Regional Medical Center is excited to participate in Pink the Rink and help raise money for free mammograms for women with no means to pay. The Tips have been very generous in their support of this event and are a great community partner. It will be a fun night!"

Tip a 'Tip Night to Benefit the Boys & Girls Club - Wednesday, November 3

The Everett Silvertips will be hosting their first ever "Tip a 'Tip Night" to benefit local Boys & Girls Clubs in Snohomish County at Boston's in the Mill Creek Town Center on Wednesday, November 3rd.

The event, designed to raise money for an organization that has seen a drastic cut in funding, will bring the entire Silvertips team out to Boston's to act as hosts, servers, doormen, and emcees. A raffle will add to the night's festivities as game-used equipment, signed paraphernalia, and Silvertips game experiences will be available for fans that make donations to this great cause. Boston's will also be donating prizes to add to the fundraising efforts.

Join the camaraderie of the Silvertips organization as players mix and mingle with fans, serve food, and sit down at your table to talk some puck and help raise money in a fun hockey atmosphere. Add to your autograph collection and bring your camera - Tip a 'Tip Night will be a prime time for photo opportunities.

Associate Head Coach Jay Varady and Assistant Coach Chris Hartsburg will also be on hand in the Boston's Lounge. Share an appetizer and say hello to the Silvertips hockey staff in between autographs and photos.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Boston's in the Mill Creek Town Center. There will be an additional Tip a 'Tip Night in the second half of the season at the Smokey's Point - Marysville Boston's location.

More information on prizes to be raffled and the schedule for the evening's events will be updated later this month to EverettSilvertips.com.

Sunday: Landon Ferraro to Appear on Q It Up Sports with Aaron Levine

Silvertips Team Captain Landon Ferraro (and perhaps a special sidekick) will be anchor Aaron Levine's guest this Sunday on Q It Up Sports, broadcast at 9:30 pm on JOEtv (Channel 22, Cable 10) and again at 10:30 pm on Q 13 FOX.

Last year, Tyler Maxwell showed off his guitar skills while in the middle of Everett's 14-game winning streak, so hopefully Landon's appearance on Q13 FOX spurs the Silvertips to string together a ton of wins!

Friday Night: Silvertips Welcome the Defending Champs

The Calgary Hitmen make their first appearance in Everett in two seasons when the Silvertips' eight-game homestand concludes Friday night with a 7:35 pm game at Comcast Arena.

Calgary, the 2010 WHL Champions and two-time defending Eastern Conference Champions, are led offensively by WHL veterans Tyler Fiddler and Jimmy Bubnick and also feature 6'6 St. Louis Blues draft pick Cody Beach, brother of former Silvertip Kyle Beach. The Hitmen opened their U.S. Division roadtrip with a 5-1 victory in Portland Wednesday night and will be looking to keep rolling under Head Coach Mike Williamson, the former Winterhawks coach.

This is the last home game until October 29th, so we hope you'll be able to make it out to Comcast Arena for a fun evening of exciting WHL action against the defending champs!

Tuesday: Join Ryan Murray and Tyler Giebel at Sporty's!

The Silvertips Radio Show returns on Tuesday evenings at Sporty's Beef and Brew - your home for Sound Transit Everett Silvertips Hockey!

The show kicks off at 6 pm on Tuesday, October 19th with defenseman Ryan Murray and center Tyler Giebel. Host Jon Rosen will lead an interactive discussion, taking questions from fans in attendance and phone calls from fans listening in live on Fox Sports 1380 and worldwide via www.krko.com. This coming Tuesday we'll discuss the upcoming road games against the Portland Winterhawks (10/20), followed by a weekend in British Columbia against the Kelowna Rockets (10/22) and Vancouver Giants (10/23).
