Hurricanes Welcome East Division this Weekend

October 14, 2010 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Lethbridge Hurricanes News Release

Lethbridge, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes will play host to a pair of East division teams this weekend as they welcome the Regina Pats and Saskatoon Blades to the ENMAX Centre. The Canes are coming of a weekend which saw them take two of a possible four points with a convincing 4-1 win over the Prince George Cougars on Friday night in the DQ Hurricanes Home Opener. The Canes overall record is 3-3-0-1 and this weekend's games will be a home and home of sorts as they will take on the Pats and the Blades next week as part of their road trip through Saskatchewan.

Lethbridge finished the 09-10 regular season with a 1-3-0-0 record against Regina - Dec.12/09 (5-1W); Jan.2/10 (4-2L); Oct.17/09 (4-1L); Mar.5/09 (4-2L). The Canes have an overall record of 57-61-4-1-2 against the Pats with a 40-22-0-1-0 record at home. This game will also mark the return of former Hurricanes forward Carter Ashton to the ENMAX Centre - the Tampa Bay Lightning prospect was moved last season in a trade which saw the Canes net Tayler Balog, Graham Hood as well as Regina's 1st round pick in the 2011 draft and a 2nd round this past summer. That pick would be used to select blue chip defenseman Macoy Erkamps with the 5th pick (27th overall) of the second round. Local Brandon Davidson is also expected to be in the lineup this weekend - the native of Taber was selected this past summer by the Edmonton Oilers in the sixth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Game time for both nights is set for 7:00 PM from the ENMAX Centre, with doors opening at 6:00 PM. Visit the Hurricanes office or contact the Ticket Centre at 329 SEAT for ticket details. The Canes would also like to remind all Season Ticket holders to be sure to drop by the Ticket Centre location located in the west parking lot of the ENMAX Centre to pick up your 2010-11 Season Ticket Package prior to game night. Fans can also tune into the official radio voice of the Lethbridge Hurricanes "Classic Hits" 94.1 CJOC.
