Wild indefinitely suspended from CIFL

The Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) announces that it has indefinitely suspended the West Virginia Wild organization. The Wild, who was to call Veterans Memorial Field House in Huntington, W.Va. their home, will not participate in the 2009 season of the CIFL.
West Virginia was given a deadline of noon on Friday, Feb. 20 to provide the league with several key items. The Wild were to present proof of liability insurance and workers compensation, pay the arena's mandatory deposit and finalize their lease, secure a field system and equipment and pay their outstanding balance to the league.
Wild owner Daniel Hicks failed to provide two of the three items requested and failed to return phone calls from CIFL co-founder Jeffrey Spitaleri.
"We gave Dan (Hicks) many opportunities to complete the steps needed to be an organization in this league and, unfortunately, he didn't complete several of them," noted Spitaleri. "We had to give him a deadline to meet the requirements and he didn't meet that deadline."
More information regarding this situation will be released shortly, including information on the revised CIFL schedule.
