Sioux Falls Stampede News Release
The Sioux Falls Stampede announced today that forward Terry Broadhurst has committed to Nebraska-Omaha for the 2009-10 season.
Broadhurst is in his second season with the Stampede and leads the team in goals scored with 20 and is second on the team in total points with 39. His 20 goals rank fifth overall in the USHL. The Orland Park, IL native posted 23 points (7g, 16a) in 56 games with the Stampede last season.
"We're very excited for Terry," said head coach Kevin Hartzell. "He put in a great deal of hard work this season and his game has blossomed because of it. To see him move on to college is very rewarding."
The Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks are members of the CCHA and are currently 13-13-7 on the season and the school has an enrollment of 13,000 students.
Broadhurst becomes the ninth Stampede player to commit to a Division I program this season. The Stampede organization has helped over 125 players secure scholarships at the Division I level since their inaugural season in 1999.
Broadhurst and the Stampede return to action this Wednesday night when they host the Sioux City Musketeers at 7:05 PM.
