AUSTIN, TX October 4, 2007 - The San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets announced today their joint purchase of Austin Toros season tickets for donation to Big Brother Big Sisters (BBBS) of Central Texas. The block of charity tickets will be used by BBBS volunteers to attend Toros home games with the youth they mentor.

The Rockets and Spurs both served as NBA affiliates of the Toros during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons. With the Spurs purchase of the Toros, the Spurs become the second NBA team to own its D-League affiliate. The Rockets are now the affiliate of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

"This type of community support re-affirms the NBA and Toros commitment to Austin and Central Texas. We are proud to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas and to share our sport in an environment that fosters positive role modeling and mentoring experiences," said Toros President Mike Berry.

Big Brothers Big Sisters provides mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them, contributing to brighter futures, better schools, and stronger communities for all. For more information, call (512)472-KIDS or visit bbbscentraltx.org.

We cannot thank the Austin Toros, Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs organizations enough for what they are doing to create moments of "Big Magic" in the lives of our program's kids," said BBBS Board Chair Bill Hopkins.
