Rampage Drop Preseason Debut, 2-0

LAREDO, TX - The Houston Aeros defeated the San Antonio Rampage 2-0 in the preseason debut of both teams at the Laredo Entertainment Center Friday night.

San Antonio's Josh Tordjman was stellar through the first half of the game making all 12 saves before giving way to David McKee.

Houston's Tyler Hirsch scored at 15:18 in the second period to break the scoreless tie and eventually receive the game-winning goal. Hirsh's goal came on a 5-on-3 power-play chance off a rebound.

Down a goal in the third period, the Rampage had several early power-play chances, but were unable to crack Houston goalie Barry Brust in net.

The Aeros doubled their lead when defenseman Paul Albers wristed in a shot from the top of the right circle at 13:15 to complete the scoring during four-on-four play.

McKee made 26 saves in 30 minutes of work and took the loss in net to drop to 0-1 in the preseason. Brust went to whole way in net, stopping all 18 shots he faced for the shutout.

NOTES: The Aeros were one for 13 on the power-play while San Antonio was 0-8. The Rampage were out shot 39-18 ... Rampage's Peter Vandermeer, the AHL's fifth all-time penalty-minute leader, received 17 penalty minutes after fighting with Houston's Aaron Voros
