Preds Reassign Rinne Niskala

Milwaukee, WI-Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has reassigned defenseman Janne Niskala and goaltender Pekka Rinne to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Rinne posted a 15-7-6 mark with a 2.32 goals against average and a .920 save percentage in the second half of the 2006-07 season after rehabbing a shoulder injury during the first half. In his rookie year of 05-06 he notched an impressive 30-18-2 record with a 2.82 GAA and a .904 save percentage and was selected as a starter for the 2006 AHL All-Star Classic. The Kempele, Finland native is 1-1 with a .900 save percentage in a pair of NHL contests with the Predators.

Niskala will begin his first season in North America after playing last year for Farjestads of the Swedish Elite League where he recorded 49 points (19g-30a) in 53 contests.

Milwaukee will finish their exhibition slate this Saturday versus the Chicago Wolves at 7:00 pm at the Kern Center on the campus of the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Tickets for the game are just $10.

The Admirals will open the 2007-08 season in Peoria on October 6th with the home opener slated for Friday, October 12th at 7:00 pm against the Quad City Flames at the Bradley Center.
