P-Bruins Announce Player Moves

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, member of the American Hockey League, announced that they have released forwards Jamison Orr and Matt Syroczynski and defensemen B.J. Crum and Bill LeClerc from training camp, while adding center Brad Schell. Training camp continues today at the Rhode Island Sports Center, Rte. 146, North Smithfield, RI and is open to the public. The P-Bruins will have their second pre-season game Tonight at 7:00 p.m., when they take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in Shelton, Connecticut. The P-Bruins training camp roster now stands at 26 players including 14 forwards, nine defensemen and three goalies.

Schell, 23, is entering his fourth pro season after splitting the past three years with the AHL's Chicago Wolves and the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators. In 22 career AHL games, the Scott, Saskatchewan native had seven points (3g, 4a) and two PIM. In 194 ECHL games, Schell tallied 242 points (62g, 180a) and 118 PIM. The 6'0'', 190 lb. center set career season highs last year with 110 points (25g, 85a) in 63 games as he led the ECHL in scoring. Prior to turning pro, Schell spent five seasons in the WHL with the Spokane Chiefs. In 239 career junior games, Schell recorded 182 points (70g, 112a) and 99 PIM. Schell was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 6th round, 167th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Crum, 24, has spent the past four seasons with the University of Connecticut Huskies. Last season, the Hampden, Massachusetts native tallied seven points (4g, 3a) and 32 PIM in 30 games. During his junior season, Crum had a collegiate career high with seven goals and tied a career high with 12 points. The 6'2", 205 lb. defenseman played in a total of 133 collegiate games and had 38 points (18g, 20a) and 194 PIM.

LeClerc, 23, is entering his first full professional season after finishing his four year collegiate career last season with the Yale University Bulldogs. Last season, the 6'0", 190 lb. defenseman joined the P-Bruins for four games and scored a goal The native of Acton, Massachusetts, notched a collegiate career-high 18 points (6g, 12a) in 29 games last season and in his four collegiate seasons, the blueliner had 43 points (16g, 27a) and 116 PIM in 110 contests.

Orr, 21, begins his second professional season after spending the 2006-07 season with the Bloomington PrairieThunder of the United Hockey League (UHL). In ten games the 6'3", 220 lb. left wing had three assists and eight PIM. During his WHL junior career, Orr spent four seasons with six different clubs. In 96 WHL games Orr tallied seven points (4g, 3a) and 215 PIM. Jamison is the younger brother of former P-Bruins Colton Orr.

Syroczynski, 24, is entering his second professional season. Last season, the 6'5", 225 lb. forward spent 73 games in the UHL with the Fort Wayne Komets where he had 41 points (20g, 21a) and 106 PIM. The two seasons prior, Syroczynski skated for the University of Vermont Catamounts where he had 19 points (10g, 9a) and 118 PIM in 68 games.
