Louisville Bats Release 2008 Schedule

Louisville, KY - The Louisville Bats will open their 2008 season on the road on Thursday, April 3 versus the Syracuse Chiefs, Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. The Bats home opener will be on Friday, April 11 against the Pawtucket Red Sox, Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox beginning at 7:05 p.m.

The Bats will again play 72 home games at Louisville Slugger Field in 2008. The Bats have 11 Saturday home games scheduled, including Thunder over Louisville, April 12. Louisville also has home games on Mother's Day (May 11 vs. Richmond), Independence Day Eve (July 3 vs. Indianapolis) and Labor Day (September 1 vs. Indianapolis).

Louisville Slugger Field will be the host for the nationally televised 2008 Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 16 featuring the top prospects from the International and Pacific Coast Leagues. There will also be a Home Run Derby on Monday, July 14 at Louisville Slugger Field in conjunction with the All-Star festivities.

The 2008 season will mark the ninth year as the Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, as well as the ninth season of play at Louisville Slugger Field.
