Rock Cats Esatblish New Franchise Attendance Marks

New Britain, CT - With today's final game of the 2007 Season at New Britain Stadium, the Rock Cats hosted 5,985 sun-splashed Labor Day fans and, in so doing, set three new franchise Attendance records.

The New Britain franchise, celebrating its 25th Anniversary Season of professional baseball in the Hardware City, welcomed a Grand Total of 341,816 patrons to New Britain Stadium this year, a new Single Season Attendance record. The previous high mark was set in 2005 when 337,687 fans turned out to support the Eastern League franchise.

With the highest level of fan support ever, came another New Britain franchise milestone, for Average Per Game Attendance. With 64 Total Openings at New Britain Stadium in 2007, the Rock Cats' Average Per Game Attendance totaled 5,341. The previous Per Game Attendance high mark was established in 2006 when the Rock Cats attracted an average of 5,052 per home contest.

In addition to these two attendance milestones, the New Britain club also eclipsed their previous record for most Sellouts in a Single Season. The Rock Cats recorded 22 Sellouts in 2007, besting by 5 their previous mark of 17, established in 2005 and matched in 2006.

Bill Dowling, the Rock Cats' President and CEO, paid tribute to the fans of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts after today's Labor Day season finale: "It is enormously gratifying for everyone associated with Rock Cats Baseball to be received with such warmth and enthusiasm by the families and fans of our region. We are blessed and deeply grateful".
