Snyder Wins 16th Game

Augusta, GA - The GreenJackets (50-20, 37-29) opened a five game road trip with a 3-2 win over the Greenville Drive (29-40, 28-38) on Thursday night. Starter Ben Sndyer won his 16th game of the year and Brad Boyer drove in what proved to be the game winning run in the seventh inning.

Augusta and the Drive were locked in a 1-1 tie after six innings before Augusta plated two runs in the seventh inning for a 3-1 lead. Bobby Felmy led off the half inning with a single then stole second base with one out. Ryan Rohlinger then broke the tie with an RBI single scoring Felmy for a 2-1 lead. With two outs in the half inning Boyer connected for an RBI triple to put Augusta up 3-1.

Greenville got one run back in the eighth inning off of reliever Adam Paul when Kris Negron connected for an inside the park home run.

Snyder (16-5) worked six innings and allowed one run on two hits for his second straight win. The lefty also walked one, struck out seven and retired the final nine batters in a row he faced.

Augusta took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on back-to-back two out doubles from Matt Weston and Barry Gunther.

Greenville rallied back in the third inning getting an RBI single from Argenis Diaz to tie the game at 1-1.

Paul worked two innings in relief of Snyder allowing the one run on one hit and walking one.

Osiris Matos pitched the ninth inning allowing one hit for his fourth save of the season.

The GreenJackets and Drive finish up their season series on Friday night with right-hander Adam Cowart (13-7, 2.47) heading to the hill for Augusta. Greenville counters with lefty Ryan Phillips (3-3, 3.89). First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
