Portland hosts Fresno in the final series of the season

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers celebrate the final homestand of the 2007 season with several special events, including Bark-In-The-Park, Jersey-Off-Our-Back Night and Fan Appreciation Day as they take on the Fresno Grizzlies starting Friday at PGE Park. The upcoming homestand will also feature the Beavers' annual calendar giveaway and a recognition ceremony for the Oregon State University baseball team.

The Beavers will honor the back-to-back, national-champion OSU baseball team on OSU Recognition Night on Saturday at PGE Park. Head coach Pat Casey along a group of players led by Erik Ammon, Scott Santschi and Braden Wells will be on hand with the national championship trophy for a variety of special activities.

Saturday is also the Beavers' final Bark-In-the Park. The first 250 dogs at PGE Park will receive a dog collar courtesy of Widmer. Fans can take home one of the Beavers' retro style jerseys on Saturday with Jersey-Off-Our-Back Night presented by Fred Meyer. Through a silent auction, fans can bid for their favorite player's jersey. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Schoolhouse Supplies.

The Beavers finish their 2007 season with the annual Fan Appreciation Day on Monday. The special day game is highlighted by the 2008 calendar giveaway presented by Joe's. On Monday, all fans will have the opportunity to run the bases at PGE Park and meet members of the 2007 Beavers.

Friday, Aug. 31

Comcast Family Feast Friday - Beavers vs. Fresno - 7:05 p.m.

The Beavers begin their final homestand of the 2007 season against the Grizzlies on a Comcast Family Feast Friday presented by Zenner's. The first 1,000 fans receive 2007 Portland Beavers trading cards. A variety of discounted concession items will be available, including $1 hot dogs, Dasani water and Blue Bunny ice cream desserts. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 1

OSU Recognition Night - Beavers vs. Fresno - 7:05 p.m.

The Beavers host a Portland celebration for the back-to-back, national-champion OSU baseball team on a Fred Meyer Saturday presented by 98/7 KUPL and KINK 102 fm. Head coach Pat Casey will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and fans can have their picture taken with the national championship trophy. Saturday is also the final Bark-In-The-Park this season presented Castor & Pollux. The first 250 dogs will receive a Beavers dog collar courtesy of Widmer. On the final Saturday home game of the season, fans have the opportunity to take home a Beavers retro style jersey on Jersey-Off-Our-Back Night presented by Fred Meyer through a silent auction to benefit Schoolhouse Supplies. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 2

Kids Appreciation Day - Beavers vs. Fresno - 2:05 p.m.

On an American Family Insurance Kids Sunday presented by Soft Rock K103, the Beavers host their annual Kids Appreciation Day as they continue their series against the Grizzlies at PGE Park. Prior to the game, the Beavers will honor the accomplishments of the Lake Oswego Little League team that recently competed in the Little League World Series. Before the first pitch, kids have the opportunity to get player autographs on the Fred Meyer Family Deck, and after the game, kids are invited to run the bases at PGE Park, presented by Family Fun Center & Bullwinkle's Restaurant. The first 3,000 fans will receive a Marvel Comics Triple-A comic book. Gates open at 1 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 3

Fan Appreciation Day - Beavers vs. Fresno - 2:05 p.m.

The Beavers conclude the 2007 season with a day game on Fan Appreciation Day at PGE Park. Among the many prizes and giveaways, the first 2,000 fans will receive Beavers 2008 calendars courtesy of Joe's on Pear Day at the Park. Prior to the game, the Beavers will name the team's 2007 Community Player of the Year, and after the game, all fans can run the bases at PGE Park and meet members of the 2007 Beavers. Gates open at 1 p.m.
