THE HILLCATS...conclude their final homestand of the year seeking to salvage the series finale of a four-game set against their Northern Division rivals, the Wilmington Blue Rocks...Never led in a 6-2 loss last night...Have lost five straight games...Are 1-9 in their last 10 contests...Are in a stretch of playing 15 out of 18 games at City Stadium (7-10)...Are just 27-51 (.346) in their last 78 games...

2007 vs. WILMINGTON: Wilmington has dominated the season series, winning nine straight contests and posting a 15-3 overall mark...Lynchburg captured the 2006 season series, 12 games to 8...Overall, the Blue Rocks have an advantage in the lifetime series 150-107 (.584) including a 73-55 (.570) mark in 128 all-time games at City Stadium...These two teams last met in the post-season in 2003, with Lynchburg sweeping the best-of-three series...

TRANSACTIONS: The Lynchburg Hillcats announced a series of roster moves today...OF Brad Corley was promoted to Double-A Altoona (see below)...RHP Jean Garavito (right arm), C Steve Lerud (sprained thumb), 2B Shelby Ford (lower back) were all placed on the Disabled List...Filling the vacated spots on the roster are RHP Carlos Amaro (see page 5) and C Ricky Diaz (see page 9)...The active roster currently stands at 23...

LEAGUE LEADER: At the time of his promotion to Double-A Altoona OF Brad Corley led the league in both hits (138) and RBIs (89)...In addition, Corley was among the league leads in extra-base hits (2nd/54) and doubles (2nd/36)....He led all Pirates' farmhands a year ago with 100 runs batted in...

BROKEN RECORD: OF Pedro Powell established a new Hillcats record by swiping his 64th base of the year last night...The 23-year-old led the league last year with 63 stolen bases and is one week away from becoming just the 2nd player in league history to win back-to-back stolen base crowns...Jack Mitchell led the league in the category in both 1952 and 1953...

ATTENDANCE MARK: The Hillcats established a new single-season attendance record of 158,107 with an announced crowd of 2,090 fans last night...The team drew a franchise-record 157,744 fans to City Stadium in 2006...Prior to 2002, the Lynchburg attendance record of 127,883 stood for 53 seasons...
