ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION -
Tonight, the SeaWolves meet the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) in the rubber game of the three-game set at Jerry Uht Park. The two squads split last night's doubleheader with Erie remaining 1.5 games ahead coming into tonight's game. Last night's game one victory for the 'Wolves insured the team of a non-losing record against the Aeros. Erie can win the season series with a victory tonight. The 'Wolves are 4.5 games ahead of third place Bowie who won the completion of a suspended game last night. The Baysox are in doubleheader action tonight against Trenton...The SeaWolves will play 15 (with the chance of an 17th game if necessary on Sept. 3 vs. Altoona) games in a 13-day span to end the '07 season...The 'Wolves send LHP Jon Connolly to the mound tonight. Connolly picked up a win in his last outing against Reading allowing two unearned runs on six hits in six innings. It was his first win in three starts after dropping a pair to Connecticut. Connolly is 2-1 with a save in four outings against the Aeros ...LHP Eric DuBose takes the mound for the Aeros. The veteran leftie DuBose is making his second start for the Aeros. He took a loss in his first outing against Harrisburg...DuBose was picked up by Detroit on waivers from Cleveland in 2000 but never pitched for the Tigers...Tonight is the last regular season meeting between Erie and Akron...Regardless of tonight's outcome, the 'Wolves will remain in first place in the division heading into Thursday night's game in Bowie.
