OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals open their final home series of the 2007 at Rosenblatt Stadium Wednesday night, facing the Round Rock Express in the opener of a five-game series. The Royals have a terrific lineup of promotions for the next five games and, as in years past, will team up with corporate partners on the field prior to the final two home games to present donations to charities that benefit from several season-long promotions.
Tonight is a 7:05 p.m. contest and it's NASCAR night presented by the Omaha World-Herald. Fans will have the chance to win NEXTEL Cup and Busch Series tickets from Kansas Speedway! Plus, the first 100 kids eat FREE, with a pizza courtesy of SUBWAY and ValPak!
Thursday night's first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. and it's the final Thirsty Thursday of the season, featuring $1 beer and Cokes through the 5th inning. Saturday's 6:05 p.m. game is when U.S. Army Recruiting presents Public Service Appreciation Night! The Royals will wear special camouflage jerseys that will be auctioned off to raise money for the Soldiers' Angels Fund. Fans will also enjoy static displays and interactive events from area police, fire and military departments. The night is also presented by WOWT-Channel 6 and 1620 the Zone!
Sunday's home finale has a 1:35 p.m. first pitch. Cox Communications presents Fan Appreciation Day with many prize giveaways to lucky fans throughout the game! It's also the final Family FUNday, with clowns face painting, balloon art and all kids invited to run the bases after the game, brought to you by KGBI 100.7 FM, KPTM-Fox 42 and Just for Kids & Families! Plus, all Royals Kids Club members receive a free ticket to the game, courtesy of SUBWAY!
Prior to Sunday's contest, the Omaha Royals will join with the season-long Hurl the Pearl sponsors, McDonald's and Nissan of Omaha, in presenting a check for more than $7,000 ($7,345 raised as of today) to the Ronald McDonald House. Werner Enterprises will donate more than $3,000 to the American Cancer Society through the year-long Werner RBI promotion. Also before Saturday night's game, AIG will present a donation to the ALS Association. As of today, $1,890 has been raised to fight ALS - a $5 donation for each of the 378 strikeouts Royals pitchers have racked up during the club's home games.
