Miscellaneous Notes

Tonight's Game... With the rain out last night. The Senators and Connecticut Defenders will play two tonight to wrap up their three game series. The Sens have currently won five in a row, their longest win streak of the season while Connecticut has lost nine straight. This is the ninth doubleheader this season for the Sens who have swept three, been swept in two and split two. Their last doubleheader was on July 6th against these same Connecticut Defenders. The teams split the doubleheader that night at Commerce Bank Park.

Last Game... Monday night, in a steady drizzle in Connecticut, the Senators started their final road trip with a 6-5 win over the Connecticut Defenders. Carlos Martinez earned the win, going three scoreless innings in relief of starter Garrett Mock. Adam Carr pitched the final two innings earning his first save as a Senator. Trailing 2-0, the Sens scored a pair of runs in the second to tie the game, then two more in the third to take a 4-2 lead. In the second, Steven Mortimer had an rbi single and Ofilio Castro drove in a run on a groundout. And in the third, Brandon Powell and Frank Diaz both drove in runs with singles. After Connecticut scored three in the third to take a 5-4 lead, the Sens tied the game in the fifth on a fielder's choice groundball off the bat of Diaz. Then in the seventh, Diaz drove in the game winner with a sacrifice fly to center field scoring Powell. Roger Bernadina had a couple of hits and stole a base and Powell also had a couple of hits, was hit by a couple of pitches, scored twice, stole three bases and drove in a run.

Tonight's Starting Pitchers... The Senators send LH Mike O'Connor to the mound against RH Nick Pereira for Connecticut in game one and in game two, the Sens are TBA and Connecticut is sending RH Jeff Hedrick to the hill..

► The Sens have not had the same line up in two straight games since the first two games of the season.
