Curve Close Out Home Schedule With Eight-Game Homestand

ALTOONA- The Altoona Curve will close out the home portion of their 2007 season with an eight-game homestand comprised of two four-game series. Altoona will take on the Harrisburg Senators Thursday, August 23rd - Sunday, August 26th and the Reading Phillies Monday, August 27th - Thursday, August 30th.

Highlighting the homestand are the final Curve Idol Series and Retro-Celebrity Series appearances of the 2007 season. Former American Idol contestant Ace Young will appear during the series opener with Reading on August 27th presented by the New AT&T. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM as the Curve also present the Curve All-Star Poster Giveaway presented by WHPA to the first 3,000 fans of all ages.

On August 28th, also scheduled for 7:05 PM, Anson Williams will complete the 2007 Retro-Celebrity Series by appearing during game two with the R-Phils. Best known for his role as "Potsie" on the hit television show Happy Days, Williams will be on hand to sign autographs, mingle with fans and throw out the first pitch.

Legendary entertainer Myron Noodleman will also appear during the homestand. Noodleman's appearance presented by S&T Bank will occur during the ballgame on August 25th.

On August 24th, the Curve and Penn State Altoona present the Curve Metal Lunch Box Giveaway to the first 2,000 fans of all ages.

The homestand will also feature four separate post-game fireworks shows. There will be post-game fireworks shows on August 23rd, 26th, 29th and 30th. Fireworks are presented by Bellwood Hometown Market on the 23rd, Ponderosa Steakhouse on the 26th, Gallikers Dairy Company on the 29th and the Blair Candy Company on the 30th. The game against the Harrisburg Senators on the 26th will be a 6:05 PM start, all other games featuring fireworks will begin at 7:05 PM.

The Curve's final regular season home game of the season on the 30th also marks Curve FANdemonium Night, as the Curve celebrate the best fans in all of minor league baseball.

Games on Thursday, August 23rd and Thursday, August 26th will be preceeded by Curve Happy Hour (5-7 PM) presented by the Hotel Belmar on the Toyota Party Deck. Curve Happy Hour features live music and food specials. There will also be post-game team parties at the Hotel Belmar following both ballgames.
