Kevin Mulvey tossed seven shutout innings, helping the Binghamton Mets beat the Portland Sea Dogs 6-0 at Hadlock Field Tuesday...Jamar Hill homered and drove in two runs as part of a 3-for-5 day, Rafael Arroyo had two hits, including a double, and two RBI and Mike Carp picked up a pair of hits and scored a run...Mulvey scattered three hits and three walks, striking out six. Relievers Tim McNab and Lino Urdaneta pitched the final two innings to preserve the shutout...the win is Binghamton's second straight and third in their last four games.

Today, the B-Mets have a chance to sweep the seven-game road season series at Hadlock Field. The B-Mets have won 13 of their 17 games here over the last two seasons, including two series sweeps...the B-Mets have swept a road season series twice - 2000 @ ERI (2-0) and 1994 @ TRE (6-0)...the BMets have batted .303 (66 for 218) and scored 34 runs (5.7/game) over their last six games after hitting .186 (34 for 183) and scoring 15 runs (2.5/game) over their previous six games...three of Binghamton's five shutout wins have come against Portland (also 7/20 vs. POR/2 & 5/5 vs. POR).

The Boston Red Sox affiliate began their seven-game homestand by dropping three of four vs. NB. Portland has lost 12 of their last 15, but they still lead New Hampshire by a game for the EL North's final playoff spot...the Sea Dogs lead the league in runs scored (633) and walks (523). Portland's pitching staff has a 4.20 ERA, the EL's sixth-best.

Kevin Mulvey is 11-10, making him the fourth pitcher in club history with double-digit totals in wins and losses in a season, joining Arnold Gooch (1998: 14-11), Jesus Sanchez (1997: 13-10) and Cory Lidle (1996: 14-10). He is also the first B-Met with 11 wins in a season since Pat Strange in 2001...Binghamton lost all seven of their meetings with Bowie this season, the first time in club history the B-Mets have been swept in a season series...Binghamton's had nine games postponed, all in April, and they still need to make up three games as part of doubleheaders. All three of those doubleheaders will be played at NYSEG Stadium...Binghamton's postponed series vs. NB 4/16-18 is only the second series postponed in NYSEG/Municipal Stadium history and the sixth postponed series in team history (also 4/5-7/2007 @ AKR, 5/23-26/2006 @ POR, 4/7-9/2003 @ New Haven, 4/6-8/2001 @ POR and 4/21-23/2000 vs. POR). 2007 is also the first season in club history in which more than one series has been postponed.
