Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
With six doubles, Asheville establishes a new South Atlantic League record for most doubles in a season with 301. The old record of 297 was set by Lexington during the 2001 season.
Asheville's Keith Weiser becomes the fourth pitcher in minor league baseball to win 15 games this season. Weiser is the first Tourist to accomplish the feat since Zach Parker (16 wins) in 2002.
And finally, Charleston downs Columbus 3-0 - leaving the Tourists 1 ½ behind Columbus in the SAL's Southern Division.
