Kane County Ace Shuts Down Snappers

Cougars' ace Trevor Cahill dominated the Snappers on Monday night going five and two thirds innings allowing only one hit. Cahill added ten strikeouts in his ninth win of the season as Kane County defeated Beloit, 6-0.
Kane County jumped ahead in the top of the first inning on a Greg Dowling RBI single to center. Dowling's RBI gave the Cougars the quick 1-0 lead.
The Cougars piled on five more runs in the top of the fifth inning. The inning was highlighted by a Sean Doolittle grand slam to center field. Doolittle's bomb put the Cougars ahead 6-0.
The Snappers were unable to muster any offense of their own Monday night, only compiling two hits. Beloit went on to fall by the final score of 6-0.
Catcher Wilson Ramos left the game in the top of the seventh inning with an undisclosed injury.
Manager Jeff Smith was ejected by the home plate umpire in the sixth inning.
The loss drops the Snappers' second half record to 29-25.
