Burnett and Snappers Shut Down Bees

Alex Burnett kept the Snappers rolling Thursday night with a dominating performance. Burnett went six inning allowing only two hits while striking out five to collect his seventh win of the season.

The Snappers struck quick in the bottom of the second inning off the bats of Garrett Olson, Chris Cates, and Steve Singleton. Olson had an RBI double, Cates had a RBI groundout, and Singleton had an RBI single to put Beloit ahead, 3-0.

After adding another run in the bottom of the third, the Snappers added more in the bottom of the fifth. Chris Parmelee hit his 14th homer of the season, driving home Wilson Ramos and Eli Tintor. Parmelee's bomb gave Beloit a 7-0 lead after five innings.

Eli Tintor gave the knockout punch to the Bees in the bottom of the eighth inning with a two-run single to center. Tintor drove home Chris Cates and Steve Singleton to stretch the Snappers' lead to 9-0.

Matt Williams pitched the final three innings of the game for the Snappers to seal the deal and collect his first save of the season. Beloit defeated Burlington in game one of the quick two game series, 9-0.

Starter Alex Burnett picked up his seventh win of the season and lowered his ERA to 2.89. The Midwest League Western Division All-Star did not walk a batter in the victory.
