Mobile BayBears News Release
PEARL, MS - After a series where they lost four of five at
Hank Aaron Stadium, the BayBears struggles continued on the road Wednesday, falling to Mississippi 3-2. Chris Kinsey (4-7) suffered the loss for Mobile, allowing all three runs with two outs in the Braves third inning. One batter after an RBI double by Isiah Ka'aihue, Mark Jurich hit a broken-bat single to center field, scoring two Braves for a 3-0 lead.
The BayBears two runs came in an eventful sixth inning. Wilkin Castillo was ejected after slamming his helmet to the ground after a close play at first base to lead off the inning, but two Mobile runs would follow. The newest BayBear, Augustine Murrillo hit an RBI single, his second RBI in four games with Mobile. Later in the inning, Mike Rozema made a throwing error leading to a second run.
The BayBears had limited chances late, with Jose Ascanio pitching the eighth and ninth innings without allowing a hit or run. The Braves reliever picked up his seventh Southern League save, in a season which has seen Ascanio spend two stints in the Major Leagues with Atlanta.
The BayBears and Braves play again Thursday at 7:05 in Mississippi, with BayBears RHP Matt Green (11-7) pitching for the first time at Trustmark Park since a scoreless outing in the All-Star Game. The Braves counter with RHP James Parr (3-4), who lost at Hank Aaron Stadium in early August to the Baybears.

The BayBears have been watched the past few games by Bob Gebhard, the former Colorado Rockies General Manager, and now Vice President and Special Assistant to the General Manager for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
