August 6, 2007 - Texas League (TL1)
Frisco RoughRiders News Release

The RoughRider offense managed only three hits Monday night as they dropped the final game of the series to San Antonio 5-1. Armando Galarraga (9-6) lasted only four innings surrendering four runs and four walks. The big hit for the Missions came in the fourth when Nick Hundley hit a bases loaded double to clear the bases. With the loss, the ‘Riders and Missions are once again tied for the top spot in the South Division.

San Antonio scored first when Galarraga walked in a run to give the Missions the 1-0 advantage in the second. The ‘Riders tied it up at one in the fourth inning when Anthony Webster singled, stole both second and third, and scored on a Chris Davis RBI single. The Missions responded in the bottom of the inning when Hundley hit his bases clearing double to make the score 4-1 in favor of San Antonio and end Galarraga's night. In the fifth, the Missions made the score 5-1 on a Brett Bonvechio solo shot to right field.

Galarraga allowed four runs on six hits while striking out five and hitting two batters in his four innings of work. Scott Shoemaker pitched the final four innings allowing a home run to the first batter he faced, but only two hits the rest of the game. William Inman (2-0) pitched brilliantly for the Missions as he allowed only three hits and one run in 7 1/3 innings of work. He struck out nine and walked one in his second start this season with San Antonio.

The ‘Riders will return home to begin a six game homestand beginning with three against Tulsa. Frisco will start Doug Mathis (9-6, 4.04) against the Drillers' Ryan Mattheus (8-8, 4.97). Time of first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
