(Vancouver) BC Lions safety Barron Miles has earned Rogers CFL Special Teams Player of the Month honours for July helping the club blast out of the gates with a perfect 5-0 record with two huge plays on special teams.
Miles, who trails only former Winnipeg Blue Bomber Gerald Vaughn by two blocked kicks boosted his career total to 10 in Toronto opening night with a blocked punt that resulted in a TD in the Lions' 24-22 win over the Argos. He followed that up with a partial block of a Sean Fleming punt in the second quarter of the Lions 29-9 win over Edmonton in Week 2.
The CFL also announced that Brent Johnson was runner-up in the Canadian Player of the Month category.
