TODAY'S OPPONENT:

The Fresno Grizzlies are the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Last season, the Grizzlies finished fourth in the Pacific South with a record of 61-83.

VS. FRESNO:

The RedHawks won three of four games last season at The Brick. The RedHawks pitching staff had a 2.13 ERA, allowing only nine earned runs in the series. The RedHawks lead the all-time series 36-17.

TODAY'S GAME:

This is game 109 of the season, the first of 4 meetings between Oklahoma and Fresno this season. This is the first game of an 8-game roadtrip for the RedHawks through Fresno and Sacramento.

ROSTER MOVES:

LHP A.J. Murray was recalled by Texas yesterday. RHP Wes Littleton was recalled by Texas today, and RHP Scott Feldman was optioned to Oklahoma from Texas. LHP Derek Lee joins the RedHawks after signing as a free agent.

LAST GAME:

The RedHawks dropped the final game of their 4-game series with Tacoma at The Brick, losing 5-0 last night. Nick Green led the game off with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly from Jeremy Reed to put the Tacoma ahead 1-0. The Rainiers added a run in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh to build a 5-0 lead. The RedHawks managed only five hits as they were shutout for the second time in four games by the Rainiers. Starter Eric Hurley failed to get any runs support as he picked up the loss, allowing four runs on six hits in 6.1 innings.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Mike Wood

makes his 15th start of the season for the RedHawks. He lost his start Friday against Portland, allowing five runs (four earned) on nine hits in 4.1 innings. Wood is 2-1 with a 6.61 ERA in three career starts against the Fresno. Sunny Kim will go to the mound for the Grizzlies. Kim hasn't faced the RedHawks in his career.

TUG HAS A GOOD JULY: Tug Hulett

hit .336 with three home runs and nine RBIs in 26 games in July after going 1-for-4 last night. That after hitting just .190 in 28 games during June. Hulett has at least one hit in 27 of his last 30 games, and has seen his average go from .238 to .272 during that time. Hulett brings a 15-game road hitting streak into tonight's game.

STEADY FREDDY: Freddy Guzman

brings an 8-game hitting streak into tonight after going 1-for-4 last night. Guzman has reached base safely in 12 of his last 13 games.

VICTOR AT THE PLATE: Victor Diaz

is hitting .321 (17-53) with three homers and 17 RBIs over his last 13 games. Diaz has reached base safely at least once in seven of his last eight games.

HAWKS ENJOY ROAD:

The RedHawks are 11-3 in their 14 road games. They have outscored their opponents 97-50 on the road in the last 14 games. The Hawks are hitting .298 with 20 homers in the last 14 road games. The pitching staff has a 3.00 ERA in during the same time as they've allowed more than three earned runs in a game only three times in the last 14 road games.

POWER OUTAGE:

The RedHawks hit only one home run in their series with Tacoma. That after the Hawks hit nine in four games against Portland. The RedHawk pitchers didn't allow the Rainiers to hit a homer in the series.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Mike Wood

leads the PCL with a 3.21 ERA. Freddy Guzman leads the league with 38 stolen bases. Jason Botts leads the PCL with a .436 on-base percentage, he's second with 36 doubles, fourth with 53 extra-base hits and seventh with a .320 batting average.

BRICKTOWN SHOWDOWN:

The Triple-A Championship Game will be held Sept. 18 at AT&T Brickown Ballpark. The champions from the PCL and IL will play a one-game championship.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

The RedHawks are 8-3 on Wednesday this season, and 20-8 in the first game of a series...the Hawks have allowed the opposing team to score first in eight consecutive games, allowing at least one run in the first inning five times...the bullpen has allowed only two earned runs over the last 16.1 innings with 13 strikeouts...
