With Only Sixteen Home Games Left, Grizzlies Prepare For Huge Homestand

Fresno, CA- The Fresno Grizzlies return home to Chukchansi Park this Wednesday, August 1 to begin their final month of play this season. Counting this week's eight game homestand, featuring games against Oklahoma and New Orleans, the Grizzlies have only 16 home dates left during the 2007 campaign. As the Grizzlies 10th season comes to a close, the time is now to take advantage of a packed promotional schedule that offers the best family entertainment value in the Central Valley.

The Fresno Bee's Season Ten Special kicks off the homestand this Wednesday as kids 12 and under, seniors 55 and up, and military personnel with valid ID can purchase field level reserved tickets for just $1. The homestand will conclude with another Fresno Bee Season Ten Special on Wednesday, August 8. Also on the 8th, dessert lovers can rejoice in the return of free ice cream. Back by popular demand, all fans in attendance can enjoy free all-you-can-eat ice cream on the final game of the homestand.

Only two more Thursday home dates remain this season, so be sure to join the Grizzlies and 104.1 FM as they present the ever popular Thirsty Thursday on August 2nd. 12 oz. beers and sodas will be available for just $1.

On Friday, August 3rd Chukchansi Park will be transformed into a haven for those with super human strength and the powers of flight, as the Grizzlies celebrate Superhero Night. In the spirit of the evening, the first 5,000 fans into the park will receive a free comic book. After the game, fans can stick around to watch the animated superhero movie The Incredibles on the Chukchansi Park video board. Of course, Friday night always means fireworks as Bingham Toyota presents another epic Friday Night Fireworks extravaganza. The first 1,000 fans will also receive Rally Towels thanks to Rally's and upon exiting the stadium, 4,000 Nesquik milkshakes will be handed out. Fans wishing to help kick off the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk can visit the Grizzlies website to purchase a special $8 ticket for Friday's game, with $3 going back to the research foundation.

Saturday, August 4th, the Grizzlies will commemorate their affiliation with the San Francisco Giants with ...And Then They Were Giants Night. Not only will the Grizzlies be sporting Giants home jerseys during the game (available in a live auction benefiting the Junior Grizzlies following the game), but the first 2,500 fans on Saturday can collect a free Tim Lincecum backpack courtesy of Full Throttle. One in every 25 of the backpacks given away will contain an autographed baseball, including signed items from former Grizzlies and current Giants as well as Lincecum himself. Also on Saturday, the Grizzlies will honor one of the greatest American creations of all time with a Tribute to Peanut Butter & Jelly. The homage to the PB & J sandwich coincides with the Sara Lee Great Whole Grain Giveaway as fans on select games of the homestand will go home with loaves of Sara Lee Soft ‘n Smooth bread.

Sunday night's 6:05 game will feature a big lineup of family activities as ABC 30 presents pregame autographs with Grizzlies players. After the game the Grizzlies and Del Taco open the field gates for Kids Run the Bases. Following Del Taco's Kids Run, all fans will be invited down onto the field to enjoy a Sunday Postgame Movie on the Chukchansi Park video board. Fans can visit fresnogrizzlies.com to vote for the movie they would like to see this Sunday, with the winning film being announced Friday.

Wienerschnitzel presents Monday Madness on Monday, August 6th as 2 tickets, 2 hot dogs, and 2 sodas will be available for just $14. On Tuesday, August 7th, tacos will be $2 all game long and 16 oz. Tecate beers are just $2 until 7:35 as part of Tecate Taco Tuesday, presented by Tecate and 95.7 The Fox. Also, be sure to checkout fresnogrizzlies.com on Tuesday for the day's high temperature as Beat the Heat Tuesdays again offer fans the ability to receive 50 cents off a field level reserved ticket for each degree over the century mark.
