Winston-Salem Warthogs to Host Mark Schultz in Concert on Saturday, August 4

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - For the Winston-Salem Warthogs, family-friendly entertainment has always been a priority.

On Saturday, August 4, the Warthogs will host a Christian concert at Ernie Shore Field for the eighth time since 2002. That same night, the Warthogs play a home game against the Potomac Nationals at 6:00 p.m. The concert starts 25 minutes after the completion of the game.

Mark Schultz, who performed at Ernie Shore Field in 2004, returns to Winston-Salem for this year's concert. Schultz has been the highest-drawing Christian musician at Ernie Shore Field since the Warthogs began coordinating Christian concerts in 2002. earned numerous accolades and become one of the Christian format's core artists with seven chart-topping hits to his credit. He's also found success on mainstream radio, scoring an AC hit with "He's My Son." His last project, "Live. . .A Night of Stories and Songs," won the 2006 Gospel Music Association Dove Award for long form music video of the year. He recently earned the No. 1 spot on Billboard magazine's Hot Christian Adult Contemporary Songwriters list.

Schultz's most recent album, "Broken and Beautiful," which has been proclaimed as his best work to date, finds Schultz forging a new creative partnership with producer Mark Bright, well known for his work with Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Sara Evans and other major country artists.

Tickets, which cover admission to the game and the concert, are currently available for purchase. Individual tickets can be purchased the day of the game for $12 a person.
