July 29, 2007 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release
The Minnesota Twins have placed Snappers' catcher, Ben Petsch, on the disabled list with a broken left hand, effective today. Petsch sustained the injury after fouling a ball off his hand during an at-bat on July 23rd.
Petsch is batting .300 with two runs and two RBI in four games played for the Snappers this season.
In 22 games played this season for the Elizabethton Twins, Petsch was batting .296 with two home runs and 14 RBI.
Ben played baseball for the University of Belmont where he served as the team co-captain in 2006. In 2006, Petsch set the single season record for doubles with 21. He also holds Belmont University's single season records in games played, games started, and at-bats.
The move leaves the Snappers' active roster at 23, two below the Midwest League maximum.
