Zephyrs Win a Close One

New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
The New Orleans Zephyrs defeated the visiting Tacoma Rainiers by a score of 5-4 to get their sixth-straight win.
Shortstop Jason Alfaro led the way for the Zephyrs with four RBI on a 2-4 night. Designated hitter Ricky Ledee also drove in a rin, he finished 2-4 with a run scored as well.
Starting pitcher Brian Lawrence (8-4) picks up the win after allowing four runs on seven hits in six innings for New Orleans. Reliever Steve Schmoll got his fourth save of the year, allowing two hits but shutting out the Rainiers in the final three innings.
Tacoma starting pitcher Jake Woods (3-7) records the loss after giving up all five Zephyrs runs on eight hits in six innings.
The Zephyrs now lead the series 3-0 after the win, and will attempt the sweep on Friday in a game scheduled for 7:00 PM CT.
