Crawdads Shutout Captains in 10th Straight Win

Hickory, NC-The Hickory Crawdads beat the Lake County Captains, 8-0, on Thursday at L.P. Frans Stadium. Pitchers Dustin Craig and Henry Cabrera combined for the shutout win. The victory also set the record for the longest win streak in franchise history.
After Craig worked a scoreless top of the 1st, the Crawdads took the early 1-0 lead in the bottom half of the inning on a solo HR hit by Alex Presley. The Dads' added 2 more runs in the inning on Kent Sakamoto's 2-run double to go up 3-0.
Hickory pulled in front by a score of 5-0 in the 3rd on a 2-run HR hit by Jonel Pacheco. The homer was Pacheco's team-high 17th of the season. Henry Cabrera replaced Craig after the 5th. Craig (2-2) allowed no runs on 4 hits en route to the win. Cabrera struck out 9 batters over 4 shutout innings and picked up his 1st save of the year. Hickory added 3 more runs in the 8th to put the game out of reach. The Crawdads continue their 4 game series with Lake County tomorrow at 7:00 at L.P. Frans Stadium. RHP Bradley Clapp is scheduled to start for Hickory. All games can be heard live on WMNC 92.1 FM.
