Game No. 105 - Home Game No. 55 --- Lake Olmstead Stadium --- Thursday, July 26, 2007 --- 7:05 p.m.

PREVIOUS DAY RECAP: The GreenJackets (50-20, 20-14) opened a four game series against the Columbus Catfish (41-29, 18-14) on Wednesday night with a 3-1 loss. Starter Clayton Tanner suffered the loss and Augusta lost for the fourth straight time to Columbus. The Catfish broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning to reclaim the lead 2-1. Desmond Jennings led off the inning with a base hit then moved to second on a wild pitch from Tanner. After a sac-bunt moved Jennings to third Cesar Suarez connected for an RBI sac-fly to center giving Columbus the lead. Columbus took the first lead of the game in the second inning on a pair of two out hits for a 1-0 lead. With two outs in the inning Quinn Stewart singled then scored when Matt Fields followed with an RBI double. The GreenJackets tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth inning on a two-out RBI double from Matt Weston scoring Brett Pill. Pill started the mini rally with a two-out single, his second hit of the game.

STARTING IT OFF: Clayton Tanner worked five innings and allowed two runs on six hits, walked two and struck out three for the loss. Since the All-Star Break Tanner is 1-3 with a pair of no-decisions and a 4.65 ERA in six starts. Before the break Tanner was 9-2 with a 2.19 ERA in 14 games and 10 starts.

FOUR HITTER: The GreenJackets were held to just four hits and Brett Pill had two of them going 2-for-4 in the loss last night.

TWO OUT RUNS: All four runs in the game last night came with two outs.

DOUBLE TROUBLE: Augusta connected for another double in last night's game and has 16 doubles over the last six games. The GreenJackets are sixth in the SAL among the 16 teams with 193 doubles this season.

ROHLING ALONG: Ryan Rohlinger has his second highest hit streak of the season having his safely in seven straight games. Rohlinger is 8-for-30 (.267) with four doubles, a triple, four runs scored and five RBIs.

HOOKED BY THE FISH: The Catfish are the only team in the SAL with a winning record against Augusta, winning six-of-nine meetings. Augusta has lost four straight to Columbus with all four coming at Lake Olmstead. Augusta has been outscored 17-4 in their five games at home against Columbus.

HOT MONTH OF JULY: Mike McBryde is ranked second among SAL batters in the month of July with a .400 batting average, three homers and 12 RBIs. Tomorrow night's starter Ben Snyder has the third best ERA in July with a 0.73 ERA and is 3-0 over 24.2 innings pitched and five starts.

PLAYOFF BOUND: Augusta clinched the Southern Division First-Half Title on June 12 assuring themselves a spot in the post season come September.

Tonight's Probables

AUG: LHP Steven Calicutt (2-4, 4.39) vs. COL: RHP Heath Rollins (10-4, 2.71)

WHAT'S ON TAP: Lefty Steven Calicutt goes to the hill tonight looking for his first win as a starter since May 8 and the GreenJackets first win against Columbus in four tries. Calicutt is coming off a nodecision in his last start on July 21 against Rome. Calicutt worked 4.2 innings and allowed two runs on a two-run homer in the second inning. Calicutt has made one start against Columbus and picked up a win on May 8 working five shutout innings and just four hits. It was Augusta's last win against Columbus.

Right-hander Heath Rollins heads to the hill tonight looking for his team leading 11th win. Rollins is coming off a loss his last time out allowing five runs on eight hits over seven innings against Greenville. Rollins is 5-2 both at home and on the road, however his ERA is higher on the road with a 3.81 mark opposed to a 1.74 ERA at home. Rollins is 2-0 in two starts against Augusta and has allowed one unearned run on four hits over 14.0 innings pitched and struck out 14.

Augusta vs. Columbus

The GreenJackets welcome to town the only team this year that has a winning record against Augusta, the Columbus Catfish. The Catfish have won five of eight games against Augusta and was the team that snapped the GreenJackets 12 game win streak to open the season. The last meeting between the two teams saw the Catfish win three-of-four at Lake Olmstead. The Catfish have also outscored the GreenJackets over the first eight games played 26- 19 and has shutout the GreenJackets twice. This is the final regular season meeting between the GreenJackets and Catfish.
