Halifax Rainmen News Release

Halifax, Nova Scotia. The ABA Halifax Rainmen have announced the first two members of the team for the upcoming season. Local talent Peter Benoite from Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, and Chad Eichelberger from Atlanta, Georgia.

Andre Levingston, President of the Halifax Rainmen commented on the new additions, "These two players are the first of many talented young men who will be suiting up for the Rainmen this coming season. As well as great players on the court, these two guys are committed to giving back to the community off the court. I'm very excited to watch them grow within the organization."

Head Coach Kevin MaBone is thrilled about the two new players. "Throughout my years of coaching I've seen a lot of great players; players who are willing to stop at nothing to reach a common goal, a championship. Peter and Chad are two of these players. Both of these guys are tremendously talented and I know they've got what it takes to perform at the highest level here in Halifax."

Playing professional basketball in the Maritimes is a dream come true for Benoite. "Being able to play ball at this level in front of your friends and family is something every kid dreams of growing up." For Benoite, he expects the move to Halifax to be an easy transition. On the other side of the border, Eichelberger is excited about his new home in Halifax. "When I cam up to Halifax in early June for the invite camp, I was immediately hooked on this city. Everyone in Halifax is so friendly and supportive of the new team. I can't wait to get started."

The Rainmen are continuing to add to their roster over the next couple of weeks with camps in California and Halifax. The Halifax open tryout is August 25-26 at the tower on the campus of Saint Mary's University. Morning session is 10am-1pm and the evening session is from 5pm-8pm. Cost is $150 and $100 if you signed up before August 15th. For further information about the Halifax Rainmen, please visit www.rainmenbasketball.com or www.abalive.com.
